Global Mobility Tax Manager Lead role is within Human Resources’ Global Rewards department. The role includes managing of international tax issues for all Citi’s globally mobile employees. These include Expatriates, Short Term Assignees, Business Travelers and International Transfers. A member of Citi’s Mobility and Immigration Tax team, the successful candidate will have an International Tax background that includes global income and social insurance taxation, related payroll reporting, as well as strong analytic and project management skills. The role will interface routinely with mobile employees, often senior leaders, and HR Colleagues. Collaborate with Citi’s Tax vendor, Payroll, Corporate Tax, Finance, Legal, Executive Financial Services and Regional partners. Responsibilities require in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Required Global Accounting firm experience with international tax, managing multiple Mobility program features such as: Tax equalization, Tax receivables and Tax policy implementation. Responsibilities include demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency. Providing superior customer service to program participants and Human Resources colleagues. Resolve escalated issues for clients. Monitoring and managing contract services, as well as any out-of-scope services with Tax vendor and Mobility regional/country partners, including SLA compliance. Reviewing and auditing Tax vendor billings, resolving any issues. Identifying and implementing process improvements. Reviewing tax equalization calculations, explaining to employees and/or business on policy compliance. Managing tax equalization receivables collections including escalation to senior managers. Coordinate tax equalizations payables process. Partner with Expatriate Payroll, Corporate Tax and Finance on expat compensation-related compliance (e.g., tax gross-up, audit, etc.). Support regional and country Mobility partners in Tax compliance related challenges for mobile employees. In collaboration with the tax vendor, coordinate mobility employees tax filing compliance including country specific tax filing positions. Work closely with vendor and Mobility Specialist teams to implement policy changes, when necessary, including implementation of new software and technology. Work with members of the US/Global Payrolls, Citi technology, and external vendors with regards to system redesign, drafting requirements/test plans, and UAT testing. Key Skills include international mindset, general Human Resources understanding, strong analytical, organizational and time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, executive presence, ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, strong verbal and written communication skills, positive behavior and attitude to support a team environment, self-motivated and detail oriented. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience, proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel, ability to meet deadlines while dealing with multiple priorities, consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, tax experience/background on international cross-border tax experience preferred. Education: Bachelor’s/University degree, master’s degree preferred. This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
