Base pay range $175,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer/Manager for our San Francisco, CA or Concord, CA office. Candidate will lead I&C system engineering services and designs for the water and wastewater industry. This will managing include both in-plant and remote telemetry (SCADA) projects with the potential for HMI/PLC programming/configuration work. This opportunity is to be the first I&C employee in Northern California , with the potential to help recruit and mentor additional Northern California I&C staff in the near-ter m future . Key Responsibilities Preparing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system network diagrams, control panel wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and installation details. Supervision and mentorship of less experienced staff Site visits, client workshops and managing multiple projects simultaneously Coordinating with the other disciplines (process/mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and site civil). Performing quality reviews of BIM models, Revit families, and CAD based files used in the production of contract documents. Inspect, witness equipment testing, and approve of I&C work provided by contractors at water and wastewater facilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering 12+ years of relevant experience Knowledge of industrial process instrumentation, equipment, and controls. Knowledge of AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Plant 3D Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines, and client interface. PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of water/wastewater process instrumentation, equipment, and controls. Experience mentoring junior engineers, designers, and other staff. PLC/HMI configuration/programming experience Electrical design experience Experience communicating and coordinating with clients, particularly W/WW clients.
