This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for a creative, detail-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, modeling, and documentation of mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
  • Perform engineering calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis for components exposed to high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) and vibration-sensitive conditions.
  • Drive the iterative design process from concept through prototype and field validation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, manufacturing, and operations teams to meet performance and manufacturability goals.
  • Support lab and field testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage BOMs, change orders, and interface with vendors and field on assembly and operations optimization.

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years in mechanical design engineering, with exposure to systems used in harsh or constrained operating environments (e.g., energy, aerospace, subsea, defense).
  • Proven track record designing dynamic assemblies, pressure-containing components, or rotary/mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing experience; comfort working closely with machinists and technicians.
  • Strong understanding of fatigue life, material science, sealing technologies, and FEA/Ansys.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Excellent 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Effective communicator and problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
