The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. Role Purpose:  

Corning Inc. is seeking a supply chain leader to join the logistics transformation team. As a key player in our Supply Chain transformation, this role will focus on building the global supply chain logistics capabilities and standards for Corning, as well as partnering with Corning’s businesses to lead their logistics transformation journey towards best-in-class practices. 

This leader will oversee the implementation of supply chain logistics work processes and standards and collaboration with cross-functional teams at Corning’s businesses to effectively implement, lead change management and adoption of logistics standards. 

As a member of the Logistics team, s/he will be a key contributor of optimizing Corning Supply Chain from a service, cost, and working capital perspective and contributing to the Global Logistics Organization. This role is highly visible and has growth potential to evolve into a broader leadership position. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead Logistics Transformation: Implement logistics standard work processes across Corning’s businesses.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Center of Excellence (COE): Develop training content and train users on logistics standards. 
  • Adopt Best Practices: Partner with businesses to integrate industry-leading logistics practices.
  • Identify and Close Gaps: Work with the Logistics COE to identify process gaps, develop solutions, and ensure implementation. 
  • Project Leadership: Define project scope, plans, and deliverables, ensuring timely and on-target completion.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor project progress and provide updates to stakeholders. 
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings while implementing innovative practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience: Min. of 5 years of combined experience in manufacturing (such as operations, planning, quality, finance, engineering, procurement, or process improvement) and global logistics (such as freight, warehousing, or trade compliance) within manufacturing or consulting environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with logistics and supply chain processes and systems, including ERP or advanced supply chain systems. 
  • Project Leadership: Proven experience leading projects and cross-functional/matrixed teams to deliver cost/performance improvements or process innovations.

 

Desired: 

 

  • Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Advanced ERP knowledge, with SAP preferred.
  • Certifications: CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, Six Sigma, or LEAN certifications are highly valued. 

 

Travel and Location: 

 

  • Willing to travel up to 25%, including internationally. 
  • This role can be based in Charlotte, NC or Corning, NY.

The range for this position is   $80,262.00 - $110,360.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
