Job Description

We're hiring an Estimator (Junior to Senior level) to join a reputable specialty subcontractor in Winston-Salem, North Carolina . This position is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in drywall or specialty estimating, a strong command of takeoffs and QuickBid, and a proven track record managing detailed cost estimates from preconstruction through project closeout. Bonus if you’ve worked on Surgery Centers or University Projects .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to produce accurate material and labor takeoffs
• Use QuickBid or similar software to create detailed and competitive estimates
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure alignment of scope and pricing
• Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits to better assess project needs
• Track bid performance and maintain up-to-date cost databases and unit pricing
• Support project turnover and handoff meetings with construction teams

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant estimating experience (5+ years preferred for senior roles)
• Background with a drywall subcontractor is required
• Proficient in construction takeoffs , quantity surveys, and cost analysis
• Familiarity with estimating platforms such as QuickBid, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, architectural drawings, and specs

BONUS SKILLS

• Experience estimating projects in Healthcare or Education Facilities
• Familiarity with design-build and negotiated GMP project delivery methods
