Position: CRNA at UPMC Altoona University of Pittsburgh Physicians, Anesthesiology Department at UPMC Altoona is hiring CRNAs for this site in Altoona, PA. 8 and 10 hour shifts available. The team covers 13 operating rooms with various off-site locations including: Post-anesthesia care unit Pre-anesthesia holding room Critical care units Emergency department GI/endo suites Obstetrics (OB) with two operating rooms Electrophysiology (EP), bronchoscopy, and catheterization labs Interventional radiology and Neurointerventional labs Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/computed tomography The six-room, on-campus Surgery Center The department also provides echocardiographic support for the expanding structural heart program, including PFO closures, Watchman devices, and TAVRs. Responsibilities include administering anesthesia, monitoring patient reactions, and informing the anesthesiologist of adverse conditions. Responsibilities: Manage controlled substances according to policies and regulations Administer anesthesia in pre-anesthetic preparation, induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia care Assist in teaching and evaluating new CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including documentation and participation in Quality Improvement initiatives Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program Knowledge of controlled substance policies Master's degree preferred Current PA RN license Board Certified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists CPR, ACLS/PALS certifications as required Act 33, 34, 73 FBI clearances with renewal Individuals must comply with UPMC's COVID vaccination requirements.
