Job Description

OVERVIEW

FULL TIME OPPORTUNITY FOR A CNC OPERATOR TO EXCEL WITHIN A CUTTING-EDGE AEROSPACE COMPONENT MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT. US CITIZENSHIP OR LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS IS REQUIRED. MUST SPEAK ENGLISH FLUENTLY. 

Candidates must have a work history operating basic manual tool room machinery, CNC lathes, and CNC mills. The CNC Operator is responsible for maintaining consistent part quality and production output throughout the day. The candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate a lifelong track record of hands-on experience, attention to detail, and a great team work ethic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operating Dual spindle live tooling CNC lathes

2. Operating 5-Axis CNC mills

3. In-Process inspection and measurement logging of machined parts

4. Inspecting tools for wear and replacing as necessary 

5. Monitoring and adjusting tooling offsets to maintain tight tolerances (tenths) 

6. Preventative maintenance of machine shop equipment 

7. Fabricating tooling fixtures and jigs using conventional tool room lathe & mill

8. Maintaining a professional and neat machine shop work area

9. Performing 2nd party inspections for new parts and setups 

10. Maintaining quality and safety standards

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be open to work variable schedules, including overtime or weekends as needed

2. Must be able to travel to local vendors & suppliers 

3. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted

4. Willingness to be subject to a background check and drug/alcohol testing 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Trade school graduate or other training certificate

2. Willingness to learn new skills

3. Sound grasp of required speeds and feeds for various stainless steel and nickel based alloys 

4. Personal drive to learn about new manufacturing and tooling technologies

5. Capable of interpreting drawings and GD&T callouts for precision parts

6. Experience with military or commercial aircraft or spacecraft components

7. Familiarity with “lights out” automated manufacturing techniques

8. Working knowledge of machine shop preventative maintenance 

9. Strong math, computer software, and decision-making skills

10. Good verbal communication skills

11. The ability to work independently or as part of a team, meeting aggressive schedules

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Team oriented and trustworthy, a history of demonstrating good character and integrity

a. At least 2 academic, professional, or faith based references are required with application

2. Personal responsibility to take ownership of tasks and focus on achieving outcomes while avoiding distractions

3. High school diploma or GED

4. Experience operating CNC machine tools: 

a. Level I: Minimum of 2 years (Hobby shops, apprenticeships, or trade school courses may be considered)

b. Level II: Minimum of 5 years setting up and operating CNC machining centers

c. Level III: Minimum of 10 years setting up and operating CNC machinery

d. Level IV: Minimum of 15 years programming/setup experience 

e. Level V: Minimum of 20 years programming/setup experience 

COMPENSATION 

1. Full Benefits package, including Silver PPO medical plan, 401k w/ 100% match, dental, vision, company holidays, vacation pay, sick pay

2. Level I: $24-26/Hour, $50-75k/Year w/ OT

3. Level II: $26-28/Hour, $55-80k/Year w/ OT

4. Level III: $28-30/Hour $60-$85k/Year w/ OT

5. Level IV: $30-35/Hour, $70-100k/Year w/ OT

6. Level V: $35-40/Hour, $80-115k/Year w/ OT

ITAR REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must conform to U.S. Government technology export (ITAR) regulations. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
